Lakewood Ranch Clean cleaning tech sweeping floor

A regular clean keeps your home clean. A deep clean gets it there first. At Lakewood Ranch Clean, our deep clean is called the First Time Clean, and we follow one simple rule: if your home’s last professional cleaning was more than 30 days ago, start with a First Time Clean.

About 9 out of 10 new clients need one. The exception is usually someone who was already on a weekly or biweekly schedule with another company and is switching to us.

Below, we break down what each service includes, how to tell which one your home needs, and how often to schedule a deep clean once you’re on a recurring plan.

What Does a Regular House Cleaning Include?

A regular clean, which we call a Standard Cleaning, is maintenance. It’s built for homes that get cleaned on a set schedule, so each visit clears away the last week or two of everyday mess.

A Standard Cleaning covers the areas your family uses most:

  • Kitchen: countertops and backsplash, stovetop and oven exterior, inside the microwave, sink, refrigerator exterior, and floors
  • Bathrooms: tub and shower scrubbed, sink and faucet polished, toilet cleaned including the base and behind it, mirrors, vanity top, and floors
  • Bedrooms and living areas: furniture and decor dusted, cobwebs removed, mirrors and glass cleaned, light fixtures dusted, floors vacuumed and mopped
  • Every room: trash emptied, cans wiped, and fresh bags put in

This is the service that keeps a clean home feeling clean. If you’re wondering how often to book it, our guide on how often you should get your house professionally cleaned walks through weekly, biweekly, and monthly schedules.

What Does a Deep Clean Add?

A First Time Clean includes everything in a Standard Cleaning, plus the detail work that takes extra time:

  • Baseboards, doors, and door frames wet-wiped by hand
  • Blinds dusted
  • Ceiling fan blades cleaned
  • Bathroom door molding and corners dusted and wiped
  • Shower doors and curtain rods wiped down
  • Bathroom exhaust fan grilles cleaned
  • Laundry room doors and baseboards wet-wiped

These are the spots where dust quietly piles up. The American Lung Association names baseboards, molding, blinds, and shelves as areas that collect dust often, and recommends a damp cloth to trap it. That’s exactly how our cleaners handle them.

Here’s a real example. One of our biweekly clients asked her cleaner to wipe down the blinds and ceiling fans during a regular visit. Totally fair request! Those items live in the First Time Clean because doing them right takes real time, and a Standard visit is timed for maintenance tasks. Scheduling detail work as its own visit means every part of your home gets proper attention.

You can see the full room-by-room breakdown on our cleaning checklist. Moving out? A Move In/Out clean goes further, with inside cabinets, closets, and appliances. Our move-out cleaning cost guide covers that service in detail.

How Do You Know Which One You Need?

Use the 30-day rule. If your home’s last professional cleaning was more than 30 days ago, book a First Time Clean. After about a month, buildup on baseboards, fans, shower glass, and bathroom corners needs more time than a Standard visit allows.

We’ve seen what happens when a home gets booked for the wrong service. A client books a Standard Cleaning, our cleaner arrives, and the home clearly needs more. She calls the client to add the First Time Clean so she can finish the job properly. Booking the right service up front saves that phone call and keeps your appointment on track.

A quick guide:

  • Last professional cleaning over 30 days ago: First Time Clean
  • Switching from another company after weekly or biweekly service: Standard Cleaning is usually enough
  • Moving in or out: Move In/Out Cleaning

How Often Should You Get a Deep Clean on a Recurring Schedule?

Recurring service slows buildup down, and detail areas still collect dust over the months. Here’s what we recommend based on who lives in the home:

HouseholdDeep clean everyPer year
Two adults with kids or pets4 months3 times
Single person or couple, no kids6 months2 times

For our recurring clients, this is called a Seasonal Refresh. It adds the same detail work as a First Time Clean to one of your regular visits, so your home stays reset all year.

The EPA notes that regular cleaning keeps allergens like dust mites and pet dander from building up, and that people with allergies or asthma may need to clean more often. If anyone in your home has allergies, lean toward the shorter schedule.

Why Do Lakewood Ranch Homes Need Deep Cleans So Often?

Lakewood Ranch homes are big, and they’re lived in. Most of the families we clean for have pets, kids, and busy schedules, and all of that adds up fast. More square footage means more baseboards, more blinds, and more ceiling fans collecting dust between visits.

Our Florida climate plays a part too. The EPA recommends keeping indoor humidity below 60 percent, ideally between 30 and 50 percent, because moisture helps mold and dust mites grow. Add sliding doors that open onto the lanai, and sand, pollen, and pet traffic find their way inside every day.

And then there are our snowbirds, who we absolutely love. A home that sits closed up for months collects a fine layer of dust on every surface. We love cleaning these homes before our snowbirds arrive, so they walk into a sparkling, dust-free space the day they get back.

What a First Time Clean Is Designed to Do

A First Time Clean resets a lived-in home so a recurring schedule can keep it that way. Homes with years of hard water staining or grout discoloration call for restoration specialists, and we’re happy to point you to one. Our sweet spot is getting your home clean and keeping it clean, visit after visit.

Is a First Time Clean the same as a deep clean?

Yes. The First Time Clean is our deep clean. It includes everything in a Standard Cleaning plus wet-wiped baseboards, doors, and frames, blinds, ceiling fans, and bathroom detail work.

Do I need a deep clean before starting recurring service?

If your home’s last professional cleaning was more than 30 days ago, yes. Your first visit resets the home, and recurring visits keep it that way.

How much does a deep clean cost in Lakewood Ranch?

The First Time Clean is added to your Standard Cleaning price and ranges from $100 for a 1-bedroom home to $300 for a 6-bedroom home. See our house cleaning cost guide for full pricing.

Does a deep clean include the inside of the oven and fridge?

Inside appliances are part of our Move In/Out Cleaning. You can also add inside oven or inside fridge cleaning as an extra to any visit.

How often should I get a deep clean?

Families with kids or pets do best with one every 4 months. Singles and couples without kids can usually go every 6 months.
